New Clear Ways for the Pacific
Sunday | 10:30 AM | Colloquy Hall
Danity Laukon has been actively campaigning in the Marshall Islands and in Suva, Fiji, as a leading member of the Marshall Islands Student Association (MISA) to raise awareness about the Islands' nuclear history, and the perils shared between the pacific islands through this past. As a mother and an educator, Danity has a strong interest in passing on the Islands' values, traditions and history on to future generations of Marshallese. In addition to the legacy of nuclear testing, the Islands increasingly face threats of rising sea-levels associated with climate change.
