Vanessa Griffen became active against nuclear testing in the Pacific Islands, as a student at the University of the South Pacific. Vanessa is a founding contributor to the early Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific movement. A Pacific feminist, gender equality and women’s rights advocate, she has held gender and development positions in organisations including the Asia and Pacific Development Centre and UNESCAP. In 2018, she was a Pacific team member and the report writer for the World Association of Christian Communications project Consultation on Moahi Nui - victims of nuclear testing, An ICAN Pacific campaigner, Vanessa is currently Associate of PANG (Pacific Network on Globalisation), on the TPNW.
