Elayne Whyte. Diplomat and academic from Costa Rica, working on issues of international security, human rights and regional integration. Former Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica; and Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Costa Rica to the UN in Geneva (2014-2020), under which condition in 2017 she presided over the United Nations Conference that negotiated and adopted the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and held different leadership positions in disarmament treaty-regimes. She serves as Adjunct Professor at the International Law Department of the University for Peace- United Nations mandated, and is currently an Advanced Leadership Initiative at Harvard University.
